# Who We Are
### Metabolomycs is a next-generation precision health company dedicated to transforming how human disease is detected, understood, and managed.
### By leveraging advanced metabolic phenotyping, the company captures a real-time, systems-level snapshot of human biology—directly reflecting the dynamic interplay between genetics, environment, lifestyle, and disease processes.
### Unlike conventional diagnostic approaches that rely on static markers or late-stage structural changes, Metabolomics’ platform interrogates the biochemical activity of cells and tissues at an unprecedented depth.
### This enables the identification of subtle metabolic perturbations that occur long before clinical symptoms emerge or traditional biomarkers become abnormal.
### As a result, the company delivers significantly earlier detection of disease across a wide range of conditions, including metabolic disorders, cancer, neurodegeneration, and cardiovascular disease.
### By the way, our field is metabolomics but our corporate name is spelled slightly different, Metabolomycs. Why? Because our founders wanted to highlight the "MYC" superfamily of genes that are critically important in the regulation of our human metabolism.
### Back to Our Story...
In 1998, our company founders who have decades of cancer research entered the exciting field of metabolomics by looking at metabolites of cancer patients and healthy patients. They found patterns that clearly identified if someone had a particular cancer and, more importantly, **if they were on the path to getting that particular cancer**.
The cancers they studied were:
- Pancreatic
- Ovarian
- Breast
They added an award-winning researcher from Brazil to their international team and performed clinical trials here in the US and Brazil, patented their work, and studied other diseases and metabolic irregularities.
Through their research they found how to analyze a person's metabolites which can then be used to diagnose current and future health problems.
**And Metabolomycs was born!**
